The Emperor's New Groove is a 2000 American animated buddy comedy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 40th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The title refers to the Danish fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen, though the two have little else in common. The movie opens with narration from Kuzco, in the form of a llama, telling the story of how his life was ruined "for no reason". However, in his flashback he's shown to have been a rude, self-absorbed ruler. After he fires his advisor, Yzma, for abusing her power, she and her henchman Kronk plot to kill him and usurp the throne. Meanwhile, Kuzco meets with Pacha, a kindly giant of a man and tells him that he wants to demolish Pacha's family home to build himself a lavish summer home called 'Kuzcotopia'.
